Society for Endocrinology (SFE/BES) Awards 2021

Congratulations to the LOCOTACT PIs Prof. Heike Heuer and Dr. Steffen Mayerl who have been awarded at this year’s conference of the British Society for Endocrinology (SFE/BES 2021) in Edinburgh.

Prof. Heike Heuer received the prestigious Pitt-Rivers Medal for outstanding research contributions in the field of thyroid diseases.

Dr. Steffen Mayerl received the award for the „Best Oral – Thyroid“ presentation during the conference.

His group is investigating the relationship between thyroid hormone transport and epileptic seizures in patients with MCT8 deficiency.
